I believe Russell has made 15 three point shots through three games. Very early prediction to make for someone to make of a pure freshman follows. He may set the all time Cajun record for made three pointers in his career. I believe Sydney Grider still has that record despite only playing two years as he was a JC transfer. As far as today's game goes, it was disappointing to see the opponent once again have success with dribble penetration to the basket. However that was somewhat by design today as the game plan was to run the opponent off the three point line. Give the team credit in that regard as Savannah State shot only 17 three pointers and they are usually over 40 three point attempts in a game. 20 turnovers is too many but at times they were very effective in running the offense as most of the made threes were wide open looks and Stroman had 11 assists from the point guard spot. The team had 30 assists overall which is a very encouraging statistic as that indicates there are no "me" guys on the squad.

I want to see this kid stick around for 4 years and see what he can do to the record books.

Wasn’t this game scheduled for 4 pm because the Cajuns had a plane to catch? I could be wrong but I believe I read/heard that somewhere.

Yes. Buses and escorts were parked and waiting at Cajun Field at end of basketball game.

Team has to be at the New Orleans airport at 4:30 AM tomorrow in order to catch their flight to the Cayman Islands. That is one reason today's game was early.

Agree Mike too many TO's , especially 9 between your PG's Stroman and Hardy. Still allowing too much dribble penetration on defense as well. Otherwise, talent is there, even with Stove sitting out.

Yes the turnovers and guys getting to rim too easily need to be addressed. Coach Marlin said that in the post game interview. Still the main goal of the game plan defensively was to limit the three pointers by Savannah State and that was accomplished. In fact the success they had running the opponent off the three point line was the main factor in this game. I don't remember 30 assists in one game in a long time so that was a positive as well.

In today’s current college basketball climate, that phraseology could be taken in a couple of different ways.

    :-)

Depending on where? Ole Miss yeah, that's a problem. I'm pretty sure it's a problem at U of L but not at UL where Big Fish runs things on the moral high road.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

It's ok, take a deep breath. Only a fool would think they were close to the same thing.

Attendance is affected by 4pm games and not for the good. Case closed.
