These are just the ones that have happened so far. I know I missed a few.
Dave, you did a lot of work there.

Honestly, I could not possibly care less what other schools do; I want our school to play a schedule in which every game is a challenge. Playing teams that do not challenge our players does nothing to make us better.

Good. I was reacting to the post above saying he couldn't do it. I figure that was a typo of some sort now.

Yeah I think that was a typo. With PJ and Cedric, we have two lethal deep shooters. They had some nice pull-up and catch and shoot threes each.

PJ had a solid game, even handling the ball. I thought he showed he can make smart decisions from the point and get passes into the guys who need the ball.

Games like this obviously don't show you much and we got cute trying to lob a few times and make silly passes, but I liked seeing guys hit open shots at the bare minimum.

Gant didn't show off great hands at times, but he is an athlete. He can be a great rebounder just based off of his jumping ability.

You need to start a consulting business for college basketball scheduling....you could make a killing.

The team was sloppy in first half. Obviously, not amped for game and that is understandable. Stove would have helped in that regard as he brings it every night. However, it was good to see the team hit 50% of three point shots. Note just about every one of those was a wide open look which does say something positive about execution in the second half. It was encouraging to see Hardy especially hit a few as he has been in a slump since the middle of last season. Maybe that will get him going for future games. Finally, Russell has as smooth a stroke as any player I have seen in all my years of watching Cajun basketball.

Sorry, that was a typo. He surely can stroke it. He is one of the smoothest shooters I have ever seen

Every game helps. These are used to build team chemistry, work on new sets, get the kids thinking for themselves on the court, etc. Think of it as a scrimmage.

Of course, some just want to batch and moan about Marlin.

We can agree to disagree. Playing a team like this has no positive value. We could do anything we wanted to do against LC. That is impossible against any team in D1, let alone any decent D1 squad.

If you are going to play DII schools, call them what they are: exhibition games, and do not make it part of the season ticket package.

They are just practice games that can only kill your Tourney chances.

  10. UL Basketball Re: Game Night: Louisiana vs. Louisiana College

Zero resistance exercise can serve a purpose.

Not exactly sure what that purpose would be.

Meeting a brick wall to start a season would be more detrimental in my opinion.

I have seen the season long bad results of facing an immovable object right out of the gate in football way to many years.

I'd opt for a zero resistance opener in basketball to get the team on the same page.
