Our next coach has to have deep Louisiana recruiting ties. HUD has damaged relationships here with the high school coaches. We need a guy that the local high school coaches can trust to take care of their kids.

Manny Diaz would be awesome. But I’m being realistic. He is P5 bound. Orlando is a possibility and he has tremendous ties in SE Texas.

It’s all moot at the moment. But once it happens I think we will be alright. I’d also rather a HC for FCS than most P5 coordinators. If Ohio St can hire Tressle from Youngstown St, we can surely hire John grass or Mike Houston.

.......Just a question about local recruiting being ruined.....we finally get a player out of Acadiana HS, Catholic NI, Erath, have Kicker from laf HS, Qb from ascension, center from Eunice, te from Lafayette HS, and walk ons from the area.....this is the best local freshman class in a while I would think.....please explain!!!

Go to 247 recruiting website. Look at the top 100 recruits for Louisiana over the past few years

I get it, we cant compete for the top 50, but we should compete for at least 10 of those prospects ranked #50-#100.

Those bottom half kids are going to G5 school's out of state. We need a coach that can come in and create a desire for kids to want to play in state at UL
