While true that Mitchell and Ragas were not in the game together much, the change of pace from 2 different type backs did make it tougher on defenses. It was similar to Harris and McGuire.

'Best QB isn't on campus yet'

I'm not sure what I am recalling.

I recall BasinBear liking Davis but it must have been from his recruiting video.

I'm recalling Harris and the Prophet often in the game together.

Zo ran inside, Prophet as slot back was outstanding running wide, and as receiver. Maybe we need to mimic that combo.

Running power plays out the pistol very risky by the way.

Harris and McGuire were rarely in the game together. When it did occur, McGuire lined up as a slot receiver as you mentioned. However that formation was used a couple of times a game at most. Still, you have a point in that a jet sweep to the fast back with Ragas in the back field might have success. It worked some with Al Riles last year but he was very strong. Not sure who we could used in that role with Mitchell injured.

.....I am thinking that Davis has never seen a baseball field....almost injured in going down by himself....I keep going back to things in early Summer practice.....A coach telling me that he would be the best since Jake and articles in the paper praising his gifted understanding and absorption of the play book.....Sitting at a scrimmage with C-Mike,we saw some freshman present but some serious potential in the making!!!

Attention Levi- If you frequent this message board, skip through the posts that put you down or build you up to Superman levels because you need to maintain an even keel. As a frosh qb you need to remember that your preparation during the week in the classroom and practice field will be the major factor in this weeks success on Saturday.
Thank you Levi for coming to play football at Louisiana. Thank you for giving 100% in your first start as a Ragin Cajun quarterback. If you continue that effort, we will all be in for a wonderful journey and you will have the time of your life. Geaux Cajuns!!!

And you took that statement to be true? How could anybody possibly know this? That narrative isn't even a narrative. It's ridiculous. I obviously heard different things. I heard that JD was absolutely the man coming out of spring and Hud said it himself by naming him the starter rather than wait to go through fall before doing it. I heard from just about everybody here that he was the guy and would be amongst the best we've had here. I know I heard this because that argument quickly went the direction that Hud was to be blamed for the last two seasons specifically since he stunted JD's growth by bringing in Jennings to take his playing time away. Do you not recall these statements by MANY here?

LMAO. And people like Bickey predicting he'd throw for more yards than any QB in Cajun history! Ha!

I'm 49 and not a great athlete, but I might be able to find one more game's worth of eligibility.

    You there HUD?

Yes I remember and no I did not take "that statement to be true?" I said "I'm talking about what some organic fans projected at the time. I was not one of them"
