Because our head coach has issues evaluating talent. Have you not been paying attention?

I thought the hot topic of spring was how much JD has progressed?

I disagree with this completely. His absence has affected us but what I see run on offense is completely different from what we ran at the start of the season, and that includes plays and series that Mitchell was not in the game.

Seems like Turbine is trying to change the narrative. All I heard after Spring and into fall was how much JD had turned the corner and was ready for the spotlight. Now he's saying that Levi Lewis was the talk of the town?

True, but that's Hud's narrative as well.

Hud dictated the Spring narrative, Davis was the named #1 QB going into the Spring.

Newspaper articles built on the Hud narrative.

I'm talking about what some organic fans projected at the time. I was not one of them.

It all boils down to the head coach's preferences. He is an athlete worshiper. Look how much he goes on and on about the "broken play ability" of LL. Coach, that's like maybe 10% of the plays. "Broken play" QB's always get hurt. Playbooks always get simplified. Guys lose confidence. And, the cycle repeats as the head coach looks to the bench for the next gifted athlete to play QB.

Hence, the offense will always regress with Hudspeth at the wheel.

Mitchell and Ragas were rarely in the same backfield together. Pretty easy to play call depending on whose in the game along with circumstances.

I don't think Lewis was here in spring ball. I think he was here for summer workouts. Summer school is another reason a guy can graduate in 3 1/2 years. Recall Brooks Haack did it which allowed him to transfer to Northwestern State after it became likely he would not start in 2016.
