T you can say that all you want. it is still a call you have to make, it would not be in the university's best interest to take cajunt's word on this and not call her. let alyson tell them no, not just some people said she would say no, so we decided not to call her.
coaches all the time say they are not interested in a job that isnt open. once the position opens their minds mysteriously change. you have to, at the very least, make her say no.
By all means make the call, but I do not expect us to get some home discount. She is currently making more than what we paid Lotief. I checked on it when her name came up last year because of discussions concerning Lotief's health. So yes, we should make the call but I have very little expectations she is interested coaching in the SBC.
this post makes no sense at all. no yvette or lotiefs. what was yvette doing before she came here? what was coach stefni doing before being hired by UL? so we got two diamonds in the rough, and then you say that they wont stay as long as it takes for ink to dry, yet yvette was here for years, and yes she left but then came the lotiefs, and no P5 plucked them away.
I’d put Alison as #1. Steph and James at #2. Kyla at #3. Then try for coach Lee at LSU-E. Hell, why not Becky Clark?
i dont think a coach that is seriously contemplating coaching here sees it as coaching in the sbc. while our conf affiliation holds us back in a number of ways, a coach should come in here wanting to complete for a national championship.
would we have to pay more, definitely, and usually when a new person comes in pay automatically goes up (i dont agree with it always, but it does happen)you have to atleast try. it would be us "USL'ing" this thing if we said "you know what, we know shes gonna say no, so we arent even going to ask"
That's where you and I disagree. In the SBC, you must finish in the Top 14 in RPI to host. Your conference opponents pretty much drag your RPI down. Would you wait for an SEC job or take a SBC job when she could have interviewed for the LSU? Makes very little sense to me.
I do not think Habetz is an option but I'd call and make her tell me no.
Andy Lee LSUE has a career record of 573-146. In 9 years with LSUE has appeared in 6 national title games and won 5. He is young and has worked with very few resources. It's hard to argue with his track record.
I typically like head coaches who have had success over assistant coaches from other programs.
