Yvette left because she wanted to be a national championship quality team and the administration thought (like some on this thread ) that softball wasn't worth it. I'm pretty sure any well known coach, even were we to raise the salary to draw them here, would also expect to compete for national championships along with the funding required to do so. Based on that I'm thinking we don't be hiring any well known coaches. JMO

It was stated in the press conference earlier as $40K, but I don't think that was what was noted when he signed his last contract. I thought that was somewhere in the $100K range, but like previously he man have been giving some of that to his assistants to supplement their salary. I think our whole coaching staff makes less than what Alison is making at Alabama.

He was around $75K prior to his bump which I think put him around $100K. Habetz I think upon last numbers are fund was around $150K to $200K.

Curious why not? Two of our most successful coaches right now (Robe and Broadhead) came from McNeese. Not saying he is our guy but I think it’s worth a look and we shouldn’t automatically discount it just because it’s McNeese.

Thinking he was a successful non 1A coach in California before he went to McNeese

Actually it was Mike Smith. He got a bump to ole miss after one year at McNeese. Landreneau only one year at McNeese Head Coach

    Habetz - Head Coach
    Hall-Holas - Assistant/Pitching Coach
    DeFeo - Assistant/Batting Coach
    Prejean - Assistant/Defense Coach
Somebody Smart - Director of Softball Operations

FYI - ouch. James and Stephanie are Brother and Sister. Makes sense now, she was a DeFeo when playing at Louisiana.
