No, I never pull against any of my coaches so that he or she will be replaced. That means we are losing and further damage to the brand. You shouldn't feel guilty in not having the confidence that he will not get the job done, that is entirely different in my opinion. Either the staff will rise to the challenge or they will fall short. They control their own destiny.
I also don't agree that our offense is designed around the QB run. Our offense has a good number of play options. We are not one-dimensional, even with a QB that predominantly throws. And you are right... Nunez can run well enough. He may not get any better than what we've seen so far... but I was fairly impressed at his read progressions early on. Unfortunately, he drops back a little too deep at times... and doesn't get the ball off quick enough. But if he gets more comfortable, he'll probably get the timing down... and even tuck and run it better.
I liked Davis in the early games, before he got hobbled. But I believe Nunez is the starter right now. If Nunez gets ding'd, we have a good QB in Davis to fill that spot.
Does anyone know what the status of Davis' injury is?
It is what it is.
This squad was unprepared for the season. Many fans have thrown in the towel on this season.
The last 2 games have stopped the bleeding, but the patient is still on the operating table. Now, the real work begins. If he can salvage a Bowl game this season, he MIGHT buy himself another year, but that is it.
Dr. Maggard can't go on much longer without a 100% enthused donor base. He's handcuffed until either Hudspeth is let go or Hudspeth somehow finds the reset button on the program with the fans on board.
Tall order.
A win in Jonesboro would really go a long way towards that reboot.
