Zephyr takes the prize.....
That's being generous. Is that the lowest crowd of the HUD era?
Happy we won, though. Not sure what the heck happened with the offense, but it was hard to watch in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. All I could think was the coaching staff were so sure that 14 points would win the game that they started running scout team plays.
Death by a thousand cuts. Fail to ever win a big game, lose a few fans. Break NCAA rules and have bowl revoked...lose more fans. First your team, then the coach gets political and puts its foot in it's collective mouth...lose more fans. Be so damn hard to watch, never putting people away, inexplicable offensive play calling for stretches, a defense that takes half a season to learn how to stop anybody...lose more fans. Crappy home schedule highlighted by a turd Thursday night game, lose more fans. Add to it the putrid local economy and you get 13K announced, 9K actual.
All good points there. Add to it realization G 5 schools support is strictly from alums as other folks pay attention only to big boys and it is a challenge to get back to where you once were. Now the defense the team has played deserves to get support. Problems on offense due to not having Mitchell as change of pace back.
Calais needs a lot more carries.
Also, no way Coach Hall took his foot off of the gas pedal for most of the game. It was so obvious that happened even the announcers said we handcuffed Nunez after the 2nd TD, but Coach Hall was not responsible for that.
Next week is the whole season. If they go up there and don't lay everything on the line as a coaching staff, he will be down to just a few bridges not burned, his closest friends and minions.
Hall wanted to go for 2. Not allowed and we lost. Hall did not call the dogs off. Someone else did that, and we nearly choked. Coaching to get to 6 wins and not to win the conference will be a career decision for this staff.
