The independent portion of the diamond sports schedules is the only thing keeping them alive.
I repeat as an example: When UL softball had the #1 ranked RPI in the country (OOC) the Sun Belt schedule prevented them from hosting. If you removed the out of conference schedule completely they would have been a 16 seed that year. Based on Sun Belt weakness.
You are only taking into consideration part of the issue. Plus, the move would affect ALL sports in the athletic program, and while the diamond sports may be able to schedule, that's not necessarily the case for everyone else.
Basketball, for example, already has a whale of a time putting together a schedule, much less a home schedule, with any amount of consistency.
IF, IF, IF, if if was a 5th I could get drunk. There is nothing that says your logic is true, as a matter of fact, as BYU and UMASS.
You know you turn ever thread into an independent thread, others have learned not to have a discussion with you, but I guess I am too stupid.
It must me nice to live in a fantasy world with unicorns and fairies. All I can say is say no to the Obama Care of your independent football.
