The point of the branch of the thread was why we would choose to NOT associate ourselves with a school (in this case Liberty). A case was made that the school's "wackadoodle" (not my word) views on certain scientific teachings should be reason enough for us to not associate with them. Others made the point(s) that lots of schools have what different people would consider "wackadoodle" ideas and we should base who we play in a sport (football in this case) on athletics and leave the rest out. Being forums of this nature lend themselves to free form discussions that often tanget, sometimes you get the last few pages. They are easily ignored or not read by the uninterested, and often lead to interesting exchanges of ideas. And sometimes even some impressive name calling and creative insults. So, not all bad.

A group of public institutions has decided together to not associate themselves with a private institution. Sounds pretty simple to me.

Those member schools are allowed to schedule them for athletic events but that's it. And I'm good with that decision.
