,,,,Hey guys, been in DeRidder helping out my 96 year old father in law....I need this RP thing fixed to use my desktop......I don't think many on here have been in different coaches meetings, and this would be a very eye opening experience....first you are dealing with the biggest egos in the world, they come from different backgrounds among other differences, have all the answers regardless of knowledge (empirical or learned), they all want more input, and they all are very competitors to the the point of physical confrontation......some are very well educated and can't coach and others can't speak correct English and are great ones.....some can sell and recruit with anybody and some couldn't get a kid to come because he is so bad.....some possess extreme loyalty and others could give a rat's butt about the head coach or school......so the head guy had to balance all this and not ____ them off or hurt their feelings because his decisions.....tough job and worthy of the pay of things he has accomplished around UL.......so if you would have told me about what he has done in 7 years, I would be one happy alumnus and likewise I am disappointed so far this year......so it's Geaux Cajuns and let's see how the year plays out.....still think the problem lies with the kids that were suppose to be here and for whatever reason aren't......Cajun T or Slick could probably give us a hypothetical starting lineup of Cajuns could have been team!!!

Good to hear from you Boomer. I wish Turbine would find a fix for the "deceptive site" thingy.

I do appreciate your perspective of football coaches... you having been one. But most of everything about what they have in common... does not excuse them for failures. No one can take away what Hud did his first 4 years... oh wait... I guess the NCAA did... I digress... most Cajun fans gave and still give Hud credit for the first 4 years. But we simply do not have a good excuse... that excludes Hud... for what transpired since.

And you cannot talk about talent that isn't here... or whatever... and leave Hud out of that issue. There is a bad habit on this site of when someone complains about Hud... someone chimes in that some of the blame is on the athletes. That's the dumbest response... ever. And if and when a coach blames the athletes to the fans and media... it is insanely ludicrous.

I'm not going to forgive him because I love a player. Again what does a coach do to get a kid qualified? There are obviously things he can legally do. Recommend a tutor, recommend an ACT,SAT specialist to guide the student athletes. Picking out places they're likely to pass the exams stinks to high heaven. I've yet to hear a reasonable explanation of how Hud expected Saunders to get these kids qualified.

I no more believe in Hud's totally innocent ignorance than Rick Pitino being a victim of his rogue staffs twice.

Missing the larger picture Jerry, Saunders was the fall guy period. If he wanted to blow this program up, he could have done so along with Hudspeth career.

Where there's smoke there's always fire theory is a good theory.. One "rogue" coach is pretty sad idea given the scope.

I don't even understand that. Fall guy is usually an ignorant victim being led by a master manipulator. He cannot be the rogue coach capable of sinking programs and head coaches while being the fall guy at the same time.

Looks like bringing in Willis paid some immediate dividends. Lets see if it holds.
