I think UTPB played Lamar in football earlier this year. That school has potential due to the energy economy there. Much more active than Gulf of Mexico basin at this stage

It’s a straight up boomtown over there. But I don’t think UTPB is destined for anything special. It’s a small school, and I’ve never been to a place with less hometown pride than Midland-Odessa. Nobody wants to be there. Nobody cares about creating a community there.

The majority of the people living in Midland-Odessa are probably there because of the oil, not because that is their dream destination!
