When I watched the game back over I really wasn't impressed with Nunez. Put himself in danger in the pocket too many times with nervous footwork, missed basic passes, and didn't do anything special. Hoping Davis is healthy to go for Idaho game
And thus the vaunted signature Mark Hudspeth two quarterback system lives yet again. I still don't understand how a quarterback is supposed to get into a rhythm when he's got a series and then is pulled, or perhaps when he does in fact get into a rhythm of completing say two passes in a row and dion "definitely gonna run" ray is inserted. Let Davis keep his job if he's hurt go to Nunez. Don't play mix and match.
I've had this take with everyone I've discussed the situation with.
I'm not taking anything away from Nunez, because there is certainly something to be said about being clutch. He did make some big time throws.
However, its one thing to play free and have the ability to just throw the ball around the yard against a prevent defense, who was gassed and already bad; and an entirely different thing to execute a game plan, prep for a defense that is prepping for you, and run a team from the first snap.
This is a good problem to have.
I agree stick with one QB unless he is imploding.
Don't swap out QBs just to swap out.
I've seen our QB's prep all spring summer and fall look much much worse than Nunez. Not crowning him as the starter or the savior, he did his job which is more that can be said for others. He gave us a chance to win the game.
