The head coach. And he has gone through enough staff changes. He's had numerous opportunities to "build his own recipe". For all we know, he's stepping all over the staff, and dumping 10 pounds of salt in the pot. The guy was an answer to a program that didn't have enough hype. Once his hype stopped being able to tackle the practice dummies... this guy doesn't have a clue how to reform a winning program.

Does the defense improve if HUD the distraction is out of the picture?

By all of the comments on the in-game thread, it appears that HUD might be causing a distraction for the whole team. I was getting the impression that the team was sluggish and mentally absent during most of the game. Heads down, slow moving, no enthusiasm. Does removing HUD solve this problem? Not taking up for him, but not sure if removing him is the key to a 8-0 run for the remainder of the season.

I personally think we COULD be 4-0 right now and should be 2-2. Defense has their moments just on the wrong downs.
This season is lost. And yeah, if Hud needs to go, I'd do it now.....what's the point of waiting? What does it accomplish.

Personally, I think we'd be surprised what would be accomplished without the distraction on the sidelines.

Again, Hud blames a player numerous times for a lot of the big escapes by their QB. He didn't call him out by name. Instead he could have taken it on himself with a coach speak. It's a team loss everyone needs to take responsibility starting with me. But he just can't do that.

I was astonished when he said Jordon had that "deer in the headlights" look in his eyes. Sorry, but that's an insult in my book, certainly is when I use the phrase.

The biggest problem is lack of depth and talent on defense. The last 2 years it was QB and o line play. He and the staff have not been able to keep the roster full of D1 athletes IMO.
Linebackers looked slow and d line got manhandled more times than not. Some of this may be poor coaching but in seeing poor recruiting more than anything.

And, of course, regardless of the problem, it's a problem. Every coaching staff faces injury, that's part of the game. But gaping holes in your offense, defense, or special teams, for a head coach in his 7th year, can't be blamed on anyone other than the head man.

Why do we have to worry about paying a buy out? I thought if coaches are fired for "cause" no buy out is necessary. In our case, the coach could be fired be "cause" he has produced a bad team the last few years!!! 😠

I don't want hud to be accountable for the loss. I want him to be fired

With only 6 halves of NCAA football football experience under his belt going in, it will create a deer in the headlight look when unique situations arise.

Perhaps Hud was acknowledging his mistake from last year

    Accountability comes first.

You must know the reasons why or you will repeat the same mistakes over and over.

Or davis was ineffective because he wouldn't run with his knee and he couldn't plant to throw...how in the world you do what he did at Kyle field and then deer in headlights in front of 15k at home against ULM? I think his leg obviously still bothered him a lot more than they let on.
