JD is the difference maker on this team for the next 2 years. With a healthy JD on the field, I like our chances in every game, EVERY game. Without him, it gets dicey, especially when a quality coach is on the other side of the field, like this Saturday.

To me, when a game is out of hand, one way or the other, that is the time to get inexperienced QB's on the field to get some game time experience.
Agree...and this why his teams struggle with quality depth in general. Game time production is very different than practice production. Things always intensify under the lights, irregardless of the opponent.

I am sick of coaches blowing simple decisions and they had a whole qtr for evaluating the situation. Coach Hud, if you are reading this, sometimes you are too hard headed to make easy decisions. Indecisiveness can kill this program.
When it became obvious we weren't pulling an upset Nunez should have been in. Too risky to leave injured JD in the game. I'm afraid either our coach knows Nunez isn't a gamer,ad isn't subbing unless JD is knocked out. Or he's that dim witted enough to lose JD for the season. Either decision bodes badly for the Cajuns.

I watched the first half last night. We had a lot of three and outs. Short drives for our scores, and the final drive the only sustained drive for thirty-five plus yards. TAMU was making bone headed decisions, and a couple of turnovers, one unforced.

Jordan actually looked very good in the last drive of the half, both running and throwing darts. He may well have stiffened up over halftime

This is why I didn't have a problem leaving him in unlike some here. Hindsight is always 20/20 but after the injury, he still played OK or at least to finish the first half and first drive of the second half. Also, I know that the medical staff checked on him after the injury and at halftime. If he was physically unable to go, they would have pulled him. As a coach, you have to ask the player how they feel. They are the only one that can give you a true answer when a medical diagnosis can't be made. If JD was pushing to stay in, as a coach, I can see where you go with him. The turnovers after that literally piled up and the defense wasn't helping by giving up field position and points.

Rewatched the game today. The Cajuns are much better than most are given them credit. They appear to be playing a little tight and apprehensive. Can't fault them on that based on the high criticism that they have faced from the fan base. Saturday's game should be a confidence booster if Coach Hud can rally the players to produce at a high level, minimize mistakes and leave everything on the field.

Every person on this forum wants the Cajuns to be better than any single person that already thinks they are.

For some reason, I have a feeling that Davis is injured worse that Hud is letting on. Hud has a history of doing this. If he plays, I suspect he will not be himself.

    I hope I am wrong.

Watched the So. Miss v. Monroe game, and Monroe appears to utilize slim, athletic D-linemen. They appeared to give up alot ground in the run game. If true, Hud may be able to implement the type of run game that he loves, and not over rely on the play of Davis.

We are out of shape. Zero depth on defense. If we don't sprint out to a huge lead early in any game this year we are toast.

We can be pretty darn good on offense. We can be atrocious on defense. I still don't see 3 more wins.
