I'm a little concerned: large parts of this Boomer post actually make sense to me.

As well as JD threw it in the first half, it was apparent to anyone watching he couldn't execute with the same accuracy with the problem he had using his legs in the throwing motion. And, he wasn't able to scramble, buy time and be a running threat which played right into ATM's hands.

Dion Ray was the other option, but given what we were up against, a running QB was not what we needed, IMO. The TO's in the second half by Davis turn the momentum in this game, though based on the adjustments made by ATM and how our defense couldn't hold serve, doubt the end result would have been different.
I completely agree with this. See you and Boomer at the reunion....

I was first guessing with my buddies that Nunez should have come in to start the 4th qtr because JD was hurting to bad to be accurate. Nunez looked very good when I saw him in scrimmage and practice. Some live game experience could only make us stronger for the rest of this year. I am sick of coaches blowing simple decisions and they had a whole qtr for evaluating the situation. Coach Hud, if you are reading this, sometimes you are too hard headed to make easy decisions. Indecisiveness can kill this program.

    Good synopsis

Hindsight is 20/20. People would probably complain that we gave up if he put Nunez in if Davis could still walk. I don't fault Hud (though I often fault Hud for a lot of things).

Also, if you're reading this Hud, unblock me on Twitter.

I do think one of Hud's biggest fault's is that he does not give 2nd string, or back up, players a chance to get playing time when various opportunities are presented. Especially the QB position. Because only one QB can be on the field at a time, how does he expect to develop future QB's when they never get playing time before they happen to become the starter? To me, when a game is out of hand, one way or the other, that is the time to get inexperienced QB's on the field to get some game time experience.

Nunez should have played most of the second half, and Hudspeth needs to explain why he didn't.

    I agree.

I would love to see a study of teams who come out of the gate strong with new personal and how much playing time they got the year before.

I think Alabama and Nicholls would be high on that list.
