7pm would work. Done by 10, home, hotel or hopping by 11.

"Louisiana Saturday Nights" needs to be a UL thing.

College football games never end in 3 hours. You are looking to be done around 10:30.

You are correct, I was presenting BCS

One thing we need to remember. UL students aren't LSU students. One student body chose their university by how they do in football, the other not so much. We're never going to get a similar ratio of the students attending games.

    Very astute point.

    UL needs to try harder.

As one poster pointed out, moving students away from the center of the action was not a good starting point.

I'm not aware of any school that gives students 50 yd line seats like we used to. There is nothing wrong with the seats they have, especially when those seats are free. Check out student sections at P5 stadiums and you will see them sitting about where ours do. Our problem is a failure over the years to cultivate our students and alumni into athletics. The same can be said for the Lafayette community. It has always been just putting on the event and hope people show up. Then we give them a lackluster event. We've learned nothing from P5 schools that we have played on the road as to what has made them successful. Any wonder we can only get 18,000 fans for our first game. It is pitiful that students would leave the game at half time.

I think we were 15-20 minutes shy of a 2 hour 1st half this past Saturday.

There is no quick fix to students leaving at halftime.

We shouldn't worry too much about this. Just build the best program we can, and it's up to them to stay for most of the game. It is what it is.

Sell 50/50 tickets and anounce the winner after the game.

I never understood why the brass took that seating away from the students the same season they were opening the new end-zone seating.

Seems like a double negative move. Students slighted, end-zone less attractive.

Regardless, football simply isn't as important here. I'm proud of academic excellence, but this is absolutely about what drives kids to games and keeps them there.
