Jordan Davis clicks with new UL coordinator who coaches with no preconceived notions

'Even Cajun defensive coaches have noticed.

“What Jordan Davis has done — maturity — from when I first got here to now? Phenomenal,” said third-year UL assistant Mike Lucas, now the Cajuns’ defensive coordinator.'
One question I ask myself about offensive players is What do the defensive coaches think of them?

I got my answer for Davis

Well, as some of you know already, I've been promoting JD for awhile and we're finally going to see what he's got. I wish he had more experience in live games, but that's not the case. He'll have to get that during the season. Hopefully the game will slow down for him sooner than later. If anybody followed him on Twitter, you know he's worked awfully hard at this craft this offseason.

He's got the skills just need to add the intangibles! Geaux Cajuns!

IMO the last two seasons should have been JD. Granted I've no idea what coach was seeing, but those playing ahead of him didn't show me anything.

Maybe he needed to go through what he went through to be where he is now, maybe Hud did too. Jordan obviously had some maturity issues that even he admits. I don't think anyone ever questioned his athletic ability.

The past 2 years he would skip workouts/ film study pretty much just had a DGF attitude .. Don't know what changed him but he made a 180 . He is now the first one in last one out and is becoming the a true leader this team has lacked the past 3 years

Perhaps, and I'm only speculating, he learned and matured watching AJ last season. From what I read last year, the maturity and preparation AJ brought was a good asset.

    I thought the same thing.
