I could tell from reading that article that there may be a push to bring back Cayenne.

What makes a mascot work is time. Mascots are usually the first thing kids notice at games. They're funny, and they're usually what they remember the most. As they grow up, they carry those fond memories with them. For me, it was Bud Man/Cajun Chicken.

Done right, Cayenne could be a great mascot. Think of Brutus at Ohio State, or Bucky at Wisconsin. They're silly, but people grew up with them, so they're beloved. Whatever we come up with needs to be done right, and we need to stick with it.
