This is the typical LSU recruiting playbook over the years. Get the best players in state even if the players are not a good fit; just as long as they don't sign with another state university. This backfired in the Curley days and the introduction of ESPN. May be getting ready to happen again...Harris, now Scott...players will notice and so will everyone else. Could be a down cycle coming to Refineryville.

Don't think LSU has an FCS opponent in 2017. He couldn't participate in any other 2017 game as he's got to sit a year even with their approval.

he would still practice with the team for a year, and probably make the trip to baton rouge with the cuse so he could possibly steal signals and what not. its not about actually playing on the field, its the knowledge he has about lsu's offense.

This post looks more like a local UL zealot's playbook on blaming LSU for anything & everything

Get the best players in state even if the players are not a good fit
Occasionally true, although LSU was in a last minute bind for a QB in that class

just as long as they don't sign with another state university.
If you want to suggest an out of state P5, this has merit. Otherwise, LSU does not fish in the same pond as the other in state schools

This backfired in the Curley days
Nothing to do with LSU's recruiting philosophy backfired on Curley. LSU skimping on coaches & facilities led to a mass exodus of the state's best players in the late 80's & 90's.

    the introduction of ESPN
Somewhat true. Other schools being showcased didn't help
