  1. Ragin' Cajuns Cajuns Work Inside In Preparation For First Scrimmage Of Fall Camp

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns worked out for just over two hours on Friday in shorts and helmets, putting in some final work to prepare for its first scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday.

After donning full pads for the first time in fall camp on Thursday, Louisiana worked for 18 periods inside the Moncla Indoor Practice Facility with emphasis on special teams, including punt and kickoff coverage.

The Ragin' Cajuns continued to refresh their offensive and defensive packages in preparation for their first live action on camp, that will split Saturday's practice between review for the first half with a live scrimmage for the second.

"We backed off the guys a little bit today, we took the pads off to get ready for some live work we're going to do on Saturday," head coach Mark Hudspeth said. "Overall, it was a good day. The guys came to practice with some good enthusiasm."

Quarterbacks Jordan Davis and Dion Ray took the majority of snaps for the Ragin' Cajuns with incoming freshmen Levi Lewis and Kadon Harrison each getting turns at directing the offense. On defense, Tanner Holmes

"The first part of (Saturday's) practice will be review, make sure the kid's ready to go and put them in the right spots and then we'll scrimmage for about an hour towards the end of practice," Hudspeth said. "We mainly want to see some of the new kids and put them in position to see if they're picking up what we've put on them.

"It will be a good evaluation at this point. It's not one of the two big scrimmages, it's just some live work that we're doing."

The Ragin' Cajuns return to practice on Friday at 9:15 a.m., before conducting the first of three scrimmages during fall camp on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. All practices and scrimmages are open to RCAF and Quarterback Club members at the $1,000 level or above.

Louisiana will officially open its 2017 season on Sept. 2 against Southeastern Louisiana at Cajun Field. The Ragin' Cajuns will also play host to Sun Belt Conference opponents ULM (Sept. 23), Texas State (Oct. 12), New Mexico State (Nov. 18) and Georgia Southern (Nov. 25).

Season tickets are available by calling the Cajundome Ticket Office at (337) 265-2357 or on-line at RaginCajuns.com/tickets.
