The point of my question was that the weight isn't an asset or liability. It does in fact seem to be a barrier to speed. Very few people at 300 lbs are quick, or can have more than a few fast steps. All things being equal I'd rather a tight end around 240 lbs.
He may be the exception, but that's not the bet. Hud's had some really huge players here, I cannot recall any making all conference, much less NFL.
I would imagine this kid will be used in jumbo and goal line packages to block in running situations but yet athletic enough to peel off and catch a pass. I doubt he plays much in our passing packages inside the 20's. Will Hall's reputation is that he is creative, a big guy like that can be a real asset if used correctly.
Didn't ole miss have a 300 lb QB used in goal line situations? If he's athletic, a good OC will find a way to use him.
Over 500 lbs actually
Ironically, i just saw this video yesterday...

If he can block, the options and potential are endless.
I am curious to see Jauqette line up in the slot. We have ways had peoples or riles types there. 6'2 in the slot can create mismatches in the middle of the field with safeties covering.
