... with his 2017 training camp opening Sunday, coach Mark Hudspeth feels his Cajuns are tighter because of all that’s happened.

We've heard the same optimism from Coach Hud for the last few years as progress on and off the field has declined substantially. My donation to football has declined substantially with his results. His actions speak louder than words. It's time to win!

Obviously not some good happenings in. The FBall area......academic probation situation, the political video, and the drop of after 4 great years in Ws and Ls,........but remember we turned it at the end last year as I had posted and Hud's talking about his learning experience and the focus by the team to put it behind them are certainly the 2 areas that needed addressing!!!

Good. Let's also block together, tackle together, throw together, run together, and kick together.

    what academic probation?

As for learning? I'm of the school you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Hud is 48 years old. He's been a head coach for decades. He's got his football frame formed and it's rigid. There's little if any restructuring his belief system.

His core belief is to avoid losing games, not winning games. He'll work on avoiding turnovers, and creating them for the other team. He'll want a chance to win at the end. Most coaches who have this mentality also have outstanding defenses, something we've never seen on a Hud coached team.

He's our coach at least for 2018-19. He's my coach until he's gone. I may be critical but my dollars and butt will be there as often as I can.

if we stink it up in 2017 -18, i dont think he sees the fall of 2018.. If he sees 6-6 and no scandals, then yes he ll get 1 more year. But I too will support OUR team.

Hud also said in the media day interview with Jay he will be less involved in the offense this year due to the confidence he has in Will Hall. I believe that is his intention today. What I wonder is if he will keep that stance when struggles occur and they will. They occur at some point for almost all teams.

He absolutely means it when he says it.

I'm very suspect he'll be able to refrain if things get hectic for a game or two in a row.

Our offence seems to be hanging on the success of JD. His backup, A Nunez is most intriguing. Good size and seems to be very athletic. Hud wasted no time in naming him the number two QB.

He really didn't have much choice on a backup coming out of spring. I'll predict if anyone has a chance to move into the back up role that is not Nunez it would be the Harrison kid out of Beaumont.

I think the following quote adequately sums up what needs to happen with UL Football this season:

"Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success."

If they will just not let go of the rope and all pull in the same direction.
