Two great games this weekend after not being able to watch a game in over a month. After watching the games this weekend it is hard to believe that this team is in last place in the standings. Now after writing that I think back to what a joke this franchise has been, and OK, I believe it. With all the GM, player, & coaching changes they have had this season, it’s not hard to see why they are in last place. All the technical problems like ice conditions, zamboni problems, and constant issues with the rink glass doesn’t help out either. With all that being said, it looks like something has come together with this team going into the tail end of the season for sure. McBrien and Hamilton both have been keeping their tempers in check and playing some real good hockey (wonder if this has been brought on by the coach). The addition of the new players to the team appears to be some good moves, but it is sad to see some of the ones that left go. Maybe Dave is getting close to putting the right formula together for a great team. Trevor Karasiewicz has quickly become my favorite player to watch out on the ice along with the Ruberto twins. These guys have great puck control, they are working the zone well, and really seem to control the flow of the game. I must say that from watching the players interact with the fans after the games, all but a couple seem to be really great guys. AJ Bucchino is top notch when it comes to the kids. With 16 games left and only being 7 points behind in the standings I guess getting into the playoffs isn’t out of the question after all. There has been talk that Dave Berryman is the new GM for the team, and if that is so maybe we can hope to see an improvement in things next season.
