Here's to hoping its just a precautionary tale..
Fingers firmly crossed for months.
It may take weeks or even months to regain strength in the muscles of the forearm and fingers. Your doctor may recommend a program of stretching and strengthening after the discomfort from surgery has gone away and the wound has healed. In severe cases, complete recovery may take up to a year because nerves grow slowly and it takes them that long to make new connections. My grand-son, a pitcher for LSU Alexandria had the surgery in his Jr. year and never returned.......I don't know how severe Leger's elbow is, and I hope it's not the worse case and recovery is fast.
My gut feeling is that we will unfortunately need to find another Friday night guy...hope I'm wrong.
Considering he's not a "power" guy and has managed to be our very successful Friday guy for three years using change of speeds and location I'll worry when I don't see him start the year. At this point I don't bet anything against Gunner.
Did not say Tommy John surgery. My comment was an elbow surgery. My grandson went through this and never returned to playing baseball. His was serious. Little league coaching and high school took care of his career. I am hoping that Leger is not serious. By the comments it may have not been. Let's hope for the best. We need him on the mound in 2018,
