Daily decisions are often based past experiences.
July 30th gates locked, no pictures no problem.
July 31 Gates open picture taken no problem.
August 2nd Gates open pictures taken no problem.
August 7th Gates open pictures taken big problem.
After a dozen years of similar experiences (that I know of) should Frenchie have known better? I don't think so.
After being on this earth for 70 plus years, could he have asked someone? After someone telling you about the new rule? Maybe looked on the gate for the 2 foot by 3 foot sign on every single gate? You are making it a big deal, nobody else. He didn't get arrested. They don't want people on the property anymore. You are insulting the man's intelligence way more than anyone else. Your timeline is all fkd up too...goes to field but gates are locked, I tell him why and what I was told by a coach...he goes back and finds an open gate, goes in it without permission and is confronted by John Dugas about being in a closed facility. Not sure where you misunderstood anything in all this. Huge signs on every gate and door...even the tunnel gate has a sign and stays locked.
All this because of a typical government reaction. They give access to whatever building until someone (allegedly) gets hurt and files a claim. Then everyone loses the privilege of usage. Typical governmental being reactive instead of proactive. Much like the ticking lawsuit called the playpen....errrrrr north end zone. Two rent a students as "security" will be a flimsy defense in court.
Goodwill gets you (UL) nowhere when money is to be made.
Going forward Frenchie and HelmutVII should be given a facility pass and a small stipend from the University for their documentation services.
It's not like this is unprecedented.
Quit confusing that your opinion of the new rule of the facility you aren't in charge of matters. I was denied access to the facility also and don't like it but have enough respect to follow their rules. The university has people that takes pictures for their social media. August 2 ulragincajuns Instagram posted pictures of the turf being removed. Not against that but A good way to start is contact them. If he lives that close to cajunfield then he lives that close to the athletic office. Go talk to them, you know to get permission. You are the only person confused in this conversation. Some azhole sued the university and ruined the use of it openly to the public, not just openly to the public except when turbine or fenchie think it's ok. Remember the azhole ruined that...not me. I can't use it anymore either. The signs state you aren't allowed in there regardless if the gates open, which is exactly what I was told by a coach and relayed here. That's what a closed facility is, not go ahead and do what you want if you can find a way in.
For the record I use to provide the University with pictures so perhaps I have an overinflated value of the service.
