Louisiana's women's soccer team heads back to the pitch this weekend with two matches first, on Friday, Sep. 1 they head to Hammond to take on the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions followed by a return, on Sunday Sep. 3, to Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Complex to host the Northwestern State Lady Demons.
Freshman Una Einarsdottir scored her first career goal on a penalty kick in the 31st minute to help lead the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns to their first win of the 2017 season, beating the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions 1-0 here in Hammond at the Southeastern Soccer Complex.
There's hope for us yet!
Thanks to two second half goals from seniors Denice Emokpae and Taylor Kennedy along with sophomore Mackenzie Lee's second clean sheet of the weekend, the Louisiana's women's soccer team got their second win of the weekend beating the Northwestern State Lady Demons 2-0 here at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Complex.
Signs of life at the Soccer/track complex. That's good to see. Especially after that start to the season.
Nice fall sports week for Cajun athletics overall. Been awhile.
It was a solid performance. Cajuns dominated the game. I have no idea how good NWST is, or will be, but we took it to them and posted a win.
After a weekend of clean sheets, the Ragin' Cajuns women's soccer team returns to action this weekend with a pair of matches, starting with a trip to Sam Houston State on Sep. 8 at 6:30 p.m. before returning home to host Nicholls on Sep. 10 at 6 p.m.
A late goal from freshman Ally Busalacchi wasn't enough for Louisiana to extend their winning streak to three as the Ragin's Cajuns women's soccer team fell just short to the Sam Houston State Bearkats, losing 2-1 here at Joseph Pritchett Field.
A brace from senior Haley Boroch, goals from seniors Rebecca Foley, Kimberly Grasso and yet another goal from junior Emily Emanis helped the Louisiana women's soccer team eclipse the Nicholls Colonels to a 5-1 victory here tonight at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Complex.
At least someone rang the bell this weekend.
