Had the pleasure of fishing in Grand Isle with the Wounded War Heroes I ran into Dan Wright he is the head basketball, track coach at GIHS. He approached me because of my UL fishing shirt. What a great man and he educated me on Coach Shipley as he played on his last team. Our conversation was well worth my fishing trip. If you could see his face light up when speaking of Coach Shipley priceless.

Is that the same Wright that would come in late in blowout games & pick up 3 fouls in 5 minutes? But he played all-out! I think that guy's name was Denny Wright.

That's him. He's been at Grand Isle for a while. I believe he was also head coach at Plaquemine HS years back. Watched some great basketball my first 3 years at U(S)L. My senior year was the first year of the death penalty. Bummer to say the least.
