Alouettes middle linebacker Dominique Tovell making big impression

"He's the guy who has replaced the guy who was supposed to replace Bear Woods.
And if that comes as a surprise, it shouldn't. Dominique Tovell, after all, was once a victim of the football trifecta — released by three NFL teams. He originally signed with New Orleans as an undrafted free agent and also failed to stick with Atlanta and Detroit. But his resolve never wavered.
...
Tovell had every reason to believe it would take him to the NFL.
The Louisiana product — he attended the same school as fellow Als linebacker Kyries Hebert, albeit a decade later — was extremely productive in college and was considered the leader of the Ragin' Cajuns defence; a virtual one-man wrecking crew at times."
Does anyone know if Fred Stamps is retired or still trying to play? Wikipedia shows him currently as a free agent

4 . The Cajun Connection and Blanc getting back to his roots
If you still haven't come to a game this season, now's the time to do so. Watching the linebacking tandem of Kyries Hebert and Dominique Tovell is worth the price of admission alone. Hebert is a freak of nature! Second in the league in tackles, he's having one of the best seasons of his career… at the age of 36! And Tovell is following in the footsteps of his role model: In his first season in the CFL, he has already recorded 43 defensive tackles (ranking sixth in the league), and has one interception and one touchdown. Both play with gusto on the gridiron, and both once wore the colours of the University of Louisiana. Geaux Ragin' Cajuns!
