  1. Louisiana Campus University of Louisiana closed Wednesday, June 21

    The University of Louisiana will be closed Wednesday, June 21, due to Tropical Storm Cindy.

    We will continue to monitor the storm and will make an announcement by 6 p.m. Wednesday regarding the University's status for Thursday, June 22.

    No matter what UL or the school board or private schools do in the event of impending weather, it will never be right. That's true wherever you go.

    Because someone could have stepped in a puddle...and that's unacceptable. When my sister went to UL...she went to school on the morning that Andrew made landfall in Louisiana. There is an art to it...I agree with you there...but there is also not being hysterical reactionary. Which is what this was. It's a Tropical Storm. Unless it sits here for 3 days, it's a bit windy and wet. Is that too dangerous?

    Actually, they err on the side of liability exposure. It's the world we live in.

    Heck, I remember one fall semester, I had class on a day with this exact cenario. Except more rain. I remember it because I had two religion peddlers come to my door that afternoon, just always struck me as odd.

    LOL, you do know the authorities evacuation message method of last resort is going house-to-house knocking on doors.

    Is the lot on Girard Park the only public lot now? I need to get to OK Allen today and would like to avoid walking a long distance in the rain.
