Thread: Cajuns rolling on football recruiting trail in June

I mean damn, we extended an offer when no one wanted him and he cuts bait in 3 months.. Sounds pretty disloyal.

Seriously, this story doesn't add up. All those other schools "pulled" offers, we give him a shot LB, and he leaves? Gotta be more to it.

That's what I was thinking. Something's not right.

    Oh, here's another nugget....

Driving out of New Orleans Friday...channel surfing...I find the ESPN FM station out of New Orleans. Also known as "the flagship of the Nicholls State Colonels".

    Boom! Automatic recruiting tool.

Looks like we lost another one. I've been saying this for 3 years now. Something is going on in that locker room.

I also disagree with recruiting kids outside the southern region. I can't blame the kid for going back closer to home.
Well, throw in the video incident in the fall and our own "Ocean's 13" crew a few weeks back, we have issues. Right or wrong, both those events come with a stink factor. And with that comes players who don't want to associate with it which divides the team, and recruiters who use it against us. I'm afraid the shark has been jumped with this coaching staff, painful slide coming. May not be directly their fault, but it's their recruits hurting the program. They can do all the goodwill in the community they can, counts zero on the recruiting trail.

Our recruiting has been sub par. We are lucky to keep 25% of a class through 3 years. I understand there will be some attrition, but HUD should be able to keep at least 40% of his signees through 4 years and have most of those guys contributing by their junior year. Most people say judge a recruiting class 2-3 years down the road. Well, here you go. Of the 2014 and 2015 classes we have less than 30% are starters. See for your self .

    2014 Class (2 starters )

    2015 Class (5 starters)

We were coming off of consecutive bowl victories and now it looks like we did not capitalize. From players not making it to campus, to players quitting the team. HUD has tried to fix his mistakes with JUCO and transfers (Anthony Jennings project) .....and we have witnessed those results over the last two years. Seems like our staff are not doing a thorough job in evaluations.

I'm not feeling much excitement with the team and the majority of the group I've attended with have lost interest. Most of it is due to frustration. None of us have lost jobs... Coach Hud is starting his 7th year. I, as well as others think that this program needs a kick in the ***. When is it time to make a change? How many years does coach Hud have left on his contract?

Season ticket sales are down around 400 in comparison to this time last season as per their official sales.

If not fake news (official), then I thought it would be much worse. Hoping it's better than expected, and hope is all we got.
