Let's focus on the most important thing here - because St. Peter's went winless, I do not have to purchase a peacock as a pet.

Back in March right on the heels of sweeping St. Peters (before knowing they would go winless) Brian gave better options

"If you are absolutely in a bind and cannot find one of the myriad of D1 teams (especially northern teams) to fill a weekend ... go the non-D1 route. There are many non-D1 teams that will provide an equal or better challenge vs. a Saint Peter's ... without the RPI damage."

A moot observation at that point In time. A much better observation for Brian or anyone to share with the coaches and team would have been on the bus shortly before departure on April 27th...hey guys, you are right where you want to be to get an at large bid, don't go get swept.

    I'll vouch for you.

    You you never said that.

It wasn't moot BECAUSE he has been trying to educate us on the dangers for YEARS.

His timing was perfect actually. While I was reveling in the sweep and near perfect game, he made his warning WHILE we were paying attention.

32 wins ain't getting a SBC team an at large bid. We still needed some wins vs teams we lost to. USM, LTUR, LSU, UTA, USA, CCU, Tulane, SLU, Nichols, GS.

How many of those 700 missed (practice) at bats could the team have made up with that weekend off?

It has been implied that those missed at bats contributed to the non-wins you mentioned.

Particularly one that finished the season with an overflowing diaper. Reverse our schedule and finish with series wins of USM and SHSU then maybe but those series wins were long gone out of the committee minds
