Thread: Regional Title Game Tomorrow

    Updated their article:

UPDATE: This morning on ESPN1420’s Thinking Out Loud, Steve Peloquin said an NCAA rep in Baton Rouge informed him today’s game between the Cajuns and Tigers must be complete by 11:00pm.
According to the rep, unlike the previous days of the Regional when first pitch was required to take place prior to 11:00 pm, today the game is required to be finished by then.
However, this is a direct contradiction to the NCAA rule which only states a contest must begin before 11:00pm. The NCAA hasn’t been known to legislate end times, only start times.

Prather has updated his article noting the NCAA rule does not align with what was told to Scott.

The S&M, cynical side of me wants to see the game rained out and have us get screwed. Though I want our Lady Cajuns to win badly, at least it removes the risk of being ridiculed over a potential tough loss...do I need to seek medical help?

Probably. If you want to be a Cajuns fan you have to get used to having just a few opportunities to impress and usually blowing those opportunities.

I'll throw a wrench in the mix. Let's say we are leading by 3-5 runs today in the first few innings, and it starts to pour down to where we can't finish by 11 pm. Does LSU still advance?

    That would be some commotion.

The rules say that yes, the Tigers would advance in that scenario, although I believe the teams could petition for a waiver to complete the game. I'm certain, no matter how badly I despise LSU, that everyone involved would hate for it to play out that way.
