Sounds a lot like what the volunteers did under Gerald Habert over 10 years ago.

If anyone is planning on going, do yourself a favor and stay in savannah while attending. There's not much of anything in Statesboro..savannah on the other hand will blow u away if you've never been...Boro is an easy 35 or so miles from savannah..

I agree on the Savannah recommendation. I was there a month ago. Nice area and alot of history there

Be prepared to deal with their gnats . They are everywhere. Hard to see but sting much worse than mosquitos

I went for 4 days prior to the coastal series and didnt have to deal with the gnats. Was great for historical views and reminded me somewhat of New Orleans.

That's a really nice facility...GS brings more to the table than most think.

I was surprised to see what the ballpark looked like before the renovations. The outfield resembled the Tigue with the pine trees lining the outfield fence.

I went to the games last year in Statesboro and the stadium itself was nice but they had problems with the infield. We went by the stadium again this Jan or Feb when we were there for basketball and the issues with infield were taken care of and the upgrades looked great.

    Last 17 seasons.

    9 regionals

    1 CWS (1990)

They also made the CWS in 1973.

The only thing I don't like about the Tigue are the turf basepaths. Wish we'd used dirt like GS's infield.

I'm OK with the way it is. It's more maintenance and associated cost and we don't have a crew for that any longer. It's a pain to cover in a sudden rain, the dirt gets into the turf causing issues. It also gives you two ridges for bad bounces which we also don't have right now. That may have something to do with our fielding percentages as well.
