So the committee favored lower teams from conferences with multiple hosts already. WOW. Really screwed the dominate teams from lower rated conferences (remember Big 10 is a lower rated softball conference). If you want softball to grow, reward everyone that has earned it. The selection committee needs to do their homework and become informed about all teams up for consideration. We seem to battle these misconceptions about our program every year. UL has an up hill battle already. The NCAA selection committee does not need to further stack the deck against us.
Im not seeing a take on minnesota in your posts
Minnesota finished #11 in the RPI rankings. Since the 64 team format was established ... this is the highest RPI ranking to not earn a national seed. In fact, this is the only year when three of the RPI Top 16 missed a national seed.
Prior to the 2017 selections, the last ten years saw ...
(4) seasons where all RPI Top 16 teams were national seeds
(4) seasons where only one RPI Top 16 team missed a national seed
(2) seasons where two RPI Top 16 teams missed a national seed

Agreed, awful!
