You might think he's crazy, but let Stevie explain.

Winning our last six games (Coastal Carolina and ULM) will increase our RPI nicely as they are decent RPI games. All other things being equal, sweeping these games would land the Cajuns in the #16 RPI ranking slot (current rankings). That said, Kentucky has the remaining schedule where they can increase their RPI as well and snag the #16 spot. We want an Aggie sweep over Kentucky.

Also something to consider, regardless of RPI ranking ... Kentucky is presently 3-7 vs. the peer group (RPI Top 25). BYU is 2-7. BYU also wears an 11-1 mercy rule loss to Texas A&M. Aggies can make that Kentucky record vs. peer group look even worse.

Also something to consider for folks that prefer not to host as a #15 or #16 seed ... the Cajuns could be #17 and get sent to LSU (whom may be a #14 -> #16 seed). Then you get the worst possible scenario ... not hosting and then facing a top national seed in the supers after dispatching LSU.

Our out of conference is what killed us more than the Sun Belt. SBC is #6 Conference RPI. We're #40 in non-conference RPI

SBC isn't a problem for softball.
