From what I recall, that is the correct view. Plus, this JC is not that far from New Orleans which is his home. Had he transferred to another D1 school he would have to sit out. Now, he can go to any school who wants him after a year in the JUCO ranks. He probably feels he will showcase his skills there and get better offers. He likely will get lots of highlight dunks but there is much more to the game of course. If I were a college athlete, I would want to redshirt as that would give me five years to get my degree. Of course these guys all think they can play pro ball and they don't understand how few really do.
Mike, he's a high energy athlete, but still had scoring deficits outside the occasional rebound and put back. Was good on defense.i think had he'd given us a chance to coach him up he could've been a great redshirt sophomore.
