Fourteen former Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, highlighted by record-setting running back Elijah McGuire, worked out for scouts from 24 NFL teams on Thursday during Pro Day at the Moncla Indoor Practice Facility.
McGuire, who finished as the school's all-time leader in all-purpose yards and total touchdowns, only took part in individual position drills after having a successful week last month at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.
He was joined at Pro Day by former Ragin' Cajuns Savion Brown, Karmichael Dunbar, Christian Goodlett, Eddie Gordon, Dominick Jones, Tre'maine Lightfoot, Reginald Miles, Otha Peters, Al Riles, Anthony Jennings, plus 2015 members Sherard Johnson, Jerrell Richardson and Donovan Williams.
Players began the day with the Wonderlic Test before being measured for height and weight. The players then took part in the vertical jump, the broad jump, and the 225-pound bench press before completing the 40-yard dash, shuttle run and three-cone drills.
Johnson, who was measured at 6-foot-6 and 396 pounds, completed 29 repetitions on the bench press with Riles posting an unofficial time of 4.50 seconds –the fastest of the day – in the 40-yard dash.
