I'm sure he and his agent have their reasons, but the biggest value of the Senior Bowl is the week leading up to it. Practice time and the countless interviews with coaches and organizational people. The game is basically irrelevant in comparison.

Elijah McGuire earned an opportunity that very few players get, and it could help his draft stock skyrocket.
The son of the late Elijah McGuire, Sr. (who passed away when Elijah was just 12 years old) led the state of Louisiana in rushing as a senior with 2,603 yards while also throwing for 497 yards and five scores. Since signing on with the Ragin' Cajuns as a running back, he's racked up over 4,000 career yards. He was the Sun Belt Conference's Freshman of the Year in 2013 and first-team all-conference pick (863 yards, eight TD rushing; 22-384, 3 TD receiving), leading the FBS with an average of 8.4 yards per carry.

Ouch. Frame this eli! Prove the doubters wrong
____ them scouts
Laughable. Eli's going to be a steal for somebody. No doubt.
Meh. He will put on a show tomorrow in the drills
Can't wait to see what his 40 time is
They weighed in and did bench press so far. Even though it's probably one of the more pointless combine drills, he put up a solid 15 reps. Real stuff starts tomorrow
Hud did 25 reps with the 225# Bench Press, BUT can't move like Eli, or catch, or be elusive, or etc.
That analysis is as much an indictment on how he was developed and coached the last 4 years as anything. That's indicative of our struggles the last few years. The failure to develop the offensive athletes we have...to improve their skills year over year. We essentially used his athletic ability to carry us, hurt his foot, and sent him to the combine not much better developed than we found him. I am pulling for him to overcome that, because he's a warrior.
