I love Eli...but there were several mediocre college defenses that shut him down for the most part. How can that not transfer over to the NFL?

He will be back. He needs to return and have a good year to boost his draft stock. If he leaves this year then he will be burried on someone's practice squad in the NFL.

I hope he comes back because his "body" is not NFL ready. Backs in the NFL are big, except for a few. Before the fall starts, he needs to add on more muscle. However, for the Cajuns and for Eli to get back to the success in 13 & 14, they need to get a Zo type back.

Gotta wish him luck no matter which way it goes.

What would be a good reason NOT to do what Eli is doing here? Find out where you stand, with nothing to lose, and come back if you don't hear what you hope.

Good to know where you stand, in an honest real-world assessment from folks that don't care about your feelings, and get motivated to change that.

You're going to see a different Eli next year. Coach knows he under-utilized Eli. He said it at every halftime and every postgame.

But you can't redesign the whole offense in week 4.

    You can in December, though.

    I agree, win/win/win

He could play a little lighter if it increases quickness/speed, but this guy plays the ball in the air as well as I've seen in a long time, and has elite hands. I can't recall seeing him drop a pass while at UL. Playing RB is a possibility as a third down back, but I like his chances better at the slot position. With his hands and ability to play the ball in the air, he's great at catching punts, but we didn't see him return many?
I see him playing much like Sproles, or Reggie Bush.

Not many backs can run to no daylight. He had one or two holes all year and exploded through them. No, he's not a power back like Henry. Instead study Bush,Sproles. Those talents transfer to the NFL.

Yep and every time he was able to get to the second level, he looked just as explosive as ever

I read nothing but a smart, nothing to lose, seeking advice from Eli. I don't think he'll get the news he'd like to hear. But they may advise him on what would improve his draft status next year. The NFL isn't drafting preferred stock RBs high in the draft as it is. And preferred stock are much larger with all of the other skills Eli has. I don't think Eli should, nor could put on more "size". He's already old enough, and been bulking up, so anything else will just slow him down.

Eli is a hybrid, like Bush, in the NFL. The great news is that if our coaching staff gets smarter, they'll recognize that he's a hybrid at the college level too. He's meant to catch the ball out of the backfield or slot. He's made to operate in space and apply his moves, speed, and power. Eli is even great at catching the deep ball. It's silly how we underutilized and misused his skills this year.

If we want Eli to not make a bad decision, risking going way down, or even being snubbed in the draft... our coaches need to commit to an offense and plays that showcase his talent. It will be worth it to us... and we need to capitalize on his senior year here.
