    Default OT: florida/auburn

Anyone see the post game lack of handshakes?

Coach has a history with the player's family. Florida coach kicked the player's two sisters off his team years ago.

As I watch the video several times, the coach wasn't even looking at the girl and just had his hand up. The "shove" was him reacting to thinking it was a hand he was slapping. Snowflakes..................

She should be reprimaned for shoving a coach. Pure disrespect.

LOL he knew what he was doing. He slides his hand to right to make sure he makes contact.

the interesting point is why are coaches allowed to do things other people cannot do regardless.

i.e. more so in football than in softball, but the "good game" pats on the backside, cant be done in my office, but can in the field which is the coach's office in essence. I feel like if a fan or a classmate walked up to that same player and just touched her on the shoulder, seems like there would be some ramifications. at the end of the day when there is any dispute in amateur athletics between a player and a coach I would lean towards the one who is actually being paid should have the greater responsibility and thus the more severe consequence.

The pat on the fanny probably predates women interacting with men in sports. I'd be careful to not pat a female on the fanny.

Yet another reason for not interacting with the fair sex in what has generally been a men's dominated area. No pinups in mechanics rest rooms. The guys always have to become more civilized for the gals. Today we've got snowflakes everywhere.

In general I'd have a problem with someone patting my behind in the workplace but not in a physical game where physical interaction is a big part.

I don't think there has been any instances in his past for any type of unethical or questionable behavior, but unfortunately that isn't the case for the player or her family. Her coach should have kept her on the bench during handshakes which would have been less disrespectful than having her in the line and refusing post game handshakes for three games. JMO

very good point, and in the video the auburn coaches didn't seem to engage or if they did it was not quickly/forcefully enough to break it up

a coach isn't part of that physical interaction though.... im not sure I understand your point about it pre-dating women in sports, in the office same sex fanny pats don't seem to occur either or are just as frowned upon

You should read the link. Fanny patting pretty much doesn't happen outside of sports. My point with females? It would probably never have existed period if men and women, boys and girls had intergrated teams, or male coaches, but that's an opinion about our society today and historically

Found out from my Florida Ph.d coworkers that her two sisters that were dismissed from Florida caused such bad locker room infighting that he let those and other girls go to save the team. Sounds familiar anyone?
