Literally the first somewhat bad game for Izzy. He gets a pass. Sensely is not a good OF. But we need his bat in the lineup. And you can't put him at DH, because we also need Lott in the lineup and he's not ready for the field yet either.

What has Sensley done other than hit two balls into the high jump pit? His at bats are as bad as Monica's. he takes the first breaking ball for a strike...that's good. Then he takes the next breaking ball for strike two. Then he hits a fastball into the ground bc he's beat. Or watches it for strike three

    Both in this case.

When I have watched other teams play and even in the majors, when an opposing pitcher is "on", they are not going to get hit and when they are, the balls is heading straight for a glove. Houston's pitcher reminded me of Greg Maddox. He would dominate the same way. Ground outs and fly out. Didn't overpower.

The Cajuns have to learn how to manufacture runs against pitchers that are controlling the action.

The UH pitcher from last night is from our district. He was highly touted and very good in HS. His performance at the next level does not surprise me at all. Sometimes you come across a good pitcher having a good night. On to the next game.

And he, a mediocre offense having a poor one.

This particular Cajuns team seems to run across "good pitchers" way to often. I absolutely give credit to UH's pitcher last night, but this team has a very poor offensive approach. At this point in the season, the hitting should be much improved, but it actually appears to be the same as it was at the beginning of the season, if not worse. Either we completely missed on the recruiting side, or whoever is coaching the hitting/offense doesn't know what they are doing, or at least, doesn't know how to get the message across to the players.

I'm just a fan and I don't know much.. but i'm curious on these things that I see.

Does any of our right-handers hit the ball anywhere other than pull? I can't seem to remember anyone of them doing anything other than straight up pull the ball to 3rd. Robbins comes to mind here. I'm not sure he has done much other than ground out to 3rd base lately.

Our only hitters that hit consistently seem to be Edwards and Lott. Not sure who gets the credit there... or blame....

I may be totally off base as I'm not an expert eye, but it seems we don't do a good job of going with the pitch. It looks like we're trying to pull balls on the outside part of the plate rather than hitting them to the opposite field.

The only one I can think of is Antchack, who loves to pop up to first base.

5th best avg on the team and near .300. Whose great bat should we replace him with? Stoelke, Stover, Williams, Lafleur and Spears are the other OF and they're a combined 3 for 41 on the season

The 3 outfielders, DH and 1b are the only guys hitting over .260 on the season
