Our announcer said UL before the Lafayette last night every single time. It was just at a volume equal to the font size of Lafayette below the UL on your caps.
Hey smart azzz: how do you explain the press releases that consistently refer to us as "Lafayette" only? I would be so ashamed to be a part of an institution that is so petty and childish. Fan chatter is one thing, but coming from the admin is another thing entirely. Reminds me of the old adage "the fish rots from the head first.' Now GFY
Since our scoreboard at the Tigue isn't fully functional as yet, maybe it will read GUEST for the next meeting.
Again, despite the move to Louisiana (only) and LA (for scores), your administration still outfits your teams in jerseys that say UL, your official online stores sell UL hats, you have a UL Alumni Association, a UL Hall of Fame, your official athletics twitter account is @ULRaginCajuns, your media guides repeatedly to yourselves as UL, all in direct violation of what was agreed on concerning name changes. I'd much rather be associated with an institution that calls someone else out on circumventing (or in this case giving a finger to) the rules than an institution with no integrity.
And again, despite any success the @ruston turds have on the field, it is now represented on the bottom line. Something old Zbutt refuses to acknowledge.
Ticket sales, merchandise sales, ad, etc., all remain stagnant at best, with some actually declining.
What good is it to have teams with success, if there isn't a fan base to support and enjoy it?
That is an issue @ruston will always have, as long as they are @ruston.
We think being in a conference with ULM is bad with the name issue. It would be 100% worse in CUSA with these d-bags fighting us on everything. Our next conference move need not be to CUSA, if that is even possible. It is ashamed too, because the rivalry could be outstanding like it used to be. Now it is beyond the fans, it is the university doing it, taking a cue from ESPN.
