I was actually impressed with St. Peter's today. They know (now) how out gunned they are, but they came out to win today.
I agree with assessment of SPU. They looked much better in g2. Perhaps there is hope they can finish close to .500...I sat behind a few SPU dads and talked to them throughout the game -they don't expect to be great but do expect to be much better than last year. They also commented on how well we play defense - citing that as the biggest problem in past years for SPU

SOS dropping from .5934 to .5268 is brutal.

Meanwhile, the Sun Belt OWP contribution to the Cajuns' RPI is still below .5000 entering play today at .4997. .5000 is not a healthy mark. The Sun Belt teams OOC contribution to the Cajuns' OWP was a solid .53840 last season. This ... in conjunction with the Cajuns' #1 NC OWP and #40 OOWP (#7 NC RPI) got them to #15 in the country last season.

I'll be interested to see if SPU can win a few games the next few weeka - if so, that should help immediately with OWP.

They didn't know it but after today, Saint Peter's will have a bunch of new fans in Lafayette

I'd be interested to know how often they play on carpet. It seems like they are having a tough time adjusting.

On that same note, considering the weather up in NJ, wouldn't it benefit the Northeastern schools to play on a synthetic field?

I think SPU will win some games.. The team is not terrible but they showing that they just started playing their season. Playing us is the best thing for their future success and worst thing for our short term rpi. I will be on a SPU watch during rest of season

They have some guys in the pen that are not bad. If they would have played better defense, we would have scored about 6 runs on Friday and 4 yesterday.

    Default Antchak again?!?!

Why the hell does he continue to get at bats? This is a huge game to be giving away free automatic outs.

I don't care if it's Lefty/Lefty with Kasuls...it can be soft toss to Antchak and I'd rather take my chances with Kasuls at this point

I know something....hes batting .050....and the one hit against St. Peters was a very questionable "hit"

Facing a left-handed pitcher. Kasuls out ... Antchak in. You give him ABs to get him out of the funk. The Cajuns are going to need him.

    Looks like we need anybody.
How long can this offense stay this anemic?

It will be anemic until someone stands up and get in someone's azz. Outfield play was bad. And we never made an ajustment at the plate
