Nice win
it came back on in first half. Cajuns looked good.
well main thing we did was when we went ice cold in shooting, other parts of our game came to the forefront and kept battling. Love the fight they developed
Bartley had 3 points all night and we beat LR for the third time this year. I'm not sure how we match up with Georgia State but we need to flip the script and come up with a win. They usually like to run so I like my chances all things considered. 7 in a row!....oh yeah, J. Wright can ball.
I'm prepping my vocal cords right now for lots of "Coach, get off the floor!"
Could go with only the top 4 teams in the tourney hosted by the regular conference champ. That way, the regular season means something. And, you would have terrific attendance almost guaranteed at the champs venue. If you are not good enough to be in the top 4 at the end of the regular season, you don't make the conference tourney.
Mike if you rebound, attack the goal, and play solid defense you can be in almost every game. Making free throws is crucial. I gotta admit I was anxious when Washington stepped up for the first one and one late in the game.
Very good points in that post. If you are not shooting the ball well, you can still be successful if you do all the things Express mentioned. We did all of those yesterday and were still able to pull it out despite struggling from the perimeter and having too many turnovers. Now we have to hit a few more from the outside against Georgia State due to their very effective zone. If we struggle again from there we will need to minimize turnovers and get some second shots.
The reason the SBC and all the other leagues as well have conference tournaments is rather simple. It gives all teams in the league something to play for throughout the entire season. Each team continues to try to improve even when they are struggling at times. Majority of conference games would become meaningless in late January without a goal of peaking at tournament time. Some of you may disagree with the logic but that is the reason things are done this way. Dropping the tournament or significantly revising the format is not even a small thought in anyone's mind at this point. As I said, virtually ALL the leagues have the same view on this. The automatic NIT bid to regular season champs who do not win the conference tournament or receive at large bids (only2 for mid majors likely) is a good adjustment to the process. As far as the host site goes, reason it is chosen ahead of time is to allow schools to make travel arrangements.
