For the most part the refs let them play. UTA definitely has to win tournament to punch ticket now.
Hope Hervey goes pro, odds are he won't. We have nobody to match him. Remember, 6'2" Stove jumps center for us.
Thank you Jay Wright.
-----"refs let them play"---they sure did, but somebody could really have gotten hurt and poor Ray on that one time coming down court was fouled by many before getting mugged and finally getting the call----they were over our backs all night (ESPECIALLY # 45) But like it has been said---one great win and at one time we were fixing to have 4 freshmen on the court tonight!!!

I was only able to watch the last 8 or so minutes, but that was fun basketball. The 2 threes Harvey made at the end of the game were sick. Our guys stepped up though. We're playing well at the right time and we've hit the 20 win mark by beating a very good basketball team. A lot to be excited about, guys.
Winning 20 is nice. Winning season on road is nice.
And coaching 101...giving the players all the accolades...is great to hear.
No need at this point to downplay tonight's result. They just defeated one of the best mid majors in all of basketball. One that is quite capable of winning an NCAA game. If they get in the CIT or CBI and not the NCAA tournament, it will be because the players want to keep playing. I don't think anyone here would really tell Jay Wright that he does not deserve to play another game once the SBC tournament is over. However, three weeks ago, most thought they would not finish with a D1 winning record. They think they can get to the Big Dance and with all the close games they have gutted out recently, they probably have enough confidence to do it.
Good points in this post. Also, these guys did it with no regular over 6'6". Think about that for a second. To win 20 games with those limitations indicates they had to play team basketball and work very hard. I said early in the season that the key to the year they would have would be how they react when a tough stretch hit. Many fans gave up on them when that happened and those of us who support them regardless of how things are going, had serious doubts they could turn it around. They never quit fighting though and ended up with a record almost no one predicted prior to the season. I told people the team knew people were not expecting much and used that as motivation to some degree. Granted, they still have lots of limitations and that will probably cost them at some point in the tournament. It won't be because of a lack of effort however.
