Talent for daaaaaays. Start him every game until he is drafted (again) in 28 months.

Also notable that while we had WAYYY too many strikeouts, we also had more good ABs tonight than any game so far. We have a LONG way to go but that is encouraging

I've never trusted that whole new math thing......

Dan Mac. said that it was hard to believe that SHU didn't score and run. He put it one the good pitching. Pitching was good, but the defense won that game. Fontenot saved runs with is acrobatics in left field.

SLU earned a nice win at Rice tonight, 8-4 ... after defeating Tulane midweek.

It will be interesting to see if we progress Saturday and Sunday. Faced a good arm tonight. I don't think they there arms will get any better as the weekend goes on. Despite double digit strike outs again, seems like we competed a little better at the plate. Didn't look that jumpy either. We just got beat by some quality pitches for the most part. But we gotta find a way to cut down on the K's. Got to put it in play. We got some LONG swings

Great win.. Outstanding defensive play as I have ever seen. Our hitting looks marginally better and I think our hitting is knocking the dust/rust off. Improvement against a legit top 20 team, !!

Maybe overlooked slightly, but we had 7 hits, raising the team BA 0.20 from 0.151 to 0.171.

It's a start. We look like the Astros last season during April. So much potential, just took a while to get going.

What's important is they found a way to win while crawling out of the offensive slump. Lott got the timely hit, Fontenot was clutch defensively, Gunner and DMO were masterful. It's good to see the fight in them.

I'm excited to watch/listen to Lee pitch this afternoon and see what arms Robe puts behind him. Marks, Harris, Huval, C. Lee, Burk, Norman?

Footnote: Those numbers don't include the SLU game (tied 4-4 in the 11th) since that game is not complete. That game would probably raise our batting average a bit also. I forget how many hits LA has so far in that one...
