Thread: Baseball update

    Default Baseball update

Interim Athletic Director gave an update regarding the park at today's press conference.

Season tickets went out today. Parking passes will go out shortly.
Temporary bleachers (200 seats) are being brought in likely down third base line. Primarily to make up for the fact that suite holders won't have access to their seats and will have to be in grandstand temporarily.
March 20th is deadline for RCAF donations to effect your ranking for seat assignments. Obviously reseating won't begin to happen until after that date.
RCAF reserved baseball parking requires donation at $250 level or higher.
Will have access to concessions and restrooms. Note she did not say permanent but it is my understanding that we will have access to permanent restrooms but temporary concessions.
Mid May before they expect to complete the suites.
Stadium Club passes will be based on RCAF priority ranking. No stadium club passes have been sold.
As previously discussed General Admission will be broken into three segments, Supreme Rice seating at ground level behind home plate, Grandstand, and bleachers. Box seats down the lines will be the only reserved seating to start the season.

They had a map showing areas that would be available and those that would not be available for March 3rd. No surprises and matches what has been discussed here numerous times.

Both entrances will be on the 1st base side. One on stadium drive and one around the cooking club pavilion. The main 3rd base opening would likely only be for emergency exit only

Ticket booth will be available but you'll have to walk back around to the 1st base entrance after buying tickets

Temporary bleachers down 3rd base line. About 200 additional seats

    Better image from ESPN 1420:

This is a rough pic of what will be open for the first day. Hard to see too much

    Red is closed off
    Green is open
Yellow is possibly open. On the construction cam, this area is where they are bricking now going back to the gate in the construction fence. I think they are keeping this as an option to make the ticket booth more accessible so you dont have to walk all the way back around to the stadium drive area.

A (stadium drive) and B (cooking club area) are entrances.
C is currently blocked off and likely will be but could be opened up for exit purposes
    D is the ticket booth

Looks like the platforms behind the bleachers will be closed off. Also, the walkway/club areas at the top of the grandstand seating will be closed off.

There are some other red squares in the grandstand, but that may be for areas underneath the seating (concessions, etc.) I don't think those are seats that are not available

Here's a PDF map of the open/closed areas:

To clarify, this looks to be the ground level. You can actually get a good idea where bathrooms/concessions are and how many there are (2 sets of mens and womens).

On first glance it kind of seemed like there are red spots in the grand stand seating, but those are actually areas on the ground level under the grand stand (look like those are concession areas)

Looks like the elevator will be in the same area as the 1st base stairwell which will be closed off to start the season.

I don't see my season tickets listed in my "account manager" yet... but without specific seats assigned, it will be interesting (and probably a cluster) if they offer ticket transfer, sale, or mobile entry... I'm not sure how we can tell which ticket we are transferring when we send someone a ticket by email - if that will even be an option with the GA ticket situation. Just a thought.
