I hated the move to PH for Lott and let Izzy get a bunt down. I get the situation, you want to move the runners over. But it was the first time all game where their ace was starting to lose control, and we decide to give him a free out. I'd rather take our chances with our new toy in Lott and let him swing away and try to create something with runners on 1st and 2nd. It's always an odds game. But I like being more aggressive and losing to open up the season rather than playing it safe and losing.
Cajun bats got hot (warm) towards end of last season which made most of us fans forget (or excuse) just how poor the team's approach at the plate was for the most part of the season.
Looks like that late season success also convinced Talbot that whatever approach he is coaching to his Cajun hitter is a good one that he should continental to use this season. I realize a team can't just replace a hitting coach like Deggs but I'm not a fan of Talbot's approach. Maybe we are just still spoiled from Deggs' explosive lineup.
First game of a long season. I have faith Coach Robe will get his team going. Just frustrating to lose when pitching staff gives you every chance to win.
Didn't see the game. But I remember dropping the home opener in 2014 (correct me if I'm wrong). We went on to host a Super that year.
I don't think Robe is going to accept the start our offense had last year with this year's group he is not going to be as patient. The potential is too good for the poor execution.
Nervous. Only 50 or so games left. Cutting it close.
Our pitching gave up two runs....one on a homer and the other by a walk....So Murray wasn't really hitting them all over the park.
